Alc. 14.8%
“The 2014 Cabernet Franc was so good, we decided to make more!”
Our 2017 Cabernet Franc shows just how good Cab Franc grapes grown in the Uco Valley are. This wine goes great with all types of food and is the product of a true family blending session at the Vines including Carolyn, Chip, Bill, Kaio, Blair and Santi. Truly, La Hermandad at work.
This wine is 100% Cabernet Franc and was aged for 16 months in a combination of first and second use French oak barrels.
2017 Barrel Fermented Malbec
Alc. Unknown
“This vintage was our first attempt at making a barrel-fermented Malbec”
Our 2017 Barrel Fermented Malbec was an ultra-premium wine made with 100% Malbec and aged for 24 months in first-use French oak barrels. The Hermandad including Carolyn, Chip, Bill, Kaio, Blair, and Santi expertly handled the blending session and the prospect for this wine was fantastic. Unfortunately, it was all lost in a warehouse fire as it was awaiting shipment to the United States.
Such a waste.

2016 Malbec Reserva
Alc. 14.5%
“It’s time to make more Malbec! Out friends are thirsty for the big, bold king of Argentina!”
Our 2016 Malbec Reserva is the beneficiary of another great year for Malbec grapes. Hot weather in the vineyard at just the right time yielded big bold flavors that Argentine Malbec grapes are known for. This great start was advanced further by the blending prowess brought to the Uco Valley by our long time good friends Carol and Tim Cawley who helped lead the blending session of this great wine with our winemaker.
This wine is 90% Malbec and 10% Cabernet Franc and was aged for 16 months in a combination of first and second use French oak barrels.

2015 Syrah Reserva
Alc. 14.1%
“In keeping with our interest in trying new and different winemaking, let’s make a Syrah!”
Making our 2015 Syrah Reserva was a great experience. The growing year was a difficult one, noted for its more than average wet weather. But, the rocky soil of the La Hermandad vineyard came to the rescue and produced a fantastic Syrah under trying conditions. Our friends and family love the wine! This Syrah was blended in the Uco Valley with our great friends Betsy and Greg Chovanes.
This wine is 90% Syrah and 10% Malbec and was aged for 16 months in a combination of first and second use French oak barrels.
Twenty-Fourteen
2014 Cabernet Franc Reserva
Alc. 15%
“Why don’t you see more Cabernet Franc varietals? Let’s make a great one!”
Our 2014 Cabernet Franc Reserva represents our interest in trying new and different winemaking from our little La Hermandad vineyard. It turns out Uco Valley Argentine Cabernet Franc grapes make a beautiful wine that is always receiving great compliments from our friends and family.

2013 Malbec Reserva
Alc. 14.8%
“2013 was a fantastic year for Malbec in the Uco Valley. One of the best in the last 15 years!”
With that as a starting point, our 2013 Malbec Reserva represents one of the best Malbec vintages in many years and should maintain its superb drinkability for quite a while. This wine is 100% Malbec and was aged for 16 months in a combination of first and second use French oak barrels.

2012 Malbec Reserva
Alc. 14.1%
“Our first vintage! Of course, we had to make a big Malbec!”
Our 2012 Malbec Reserva is the first of what we hope will be a long line of great Argentine wines that we can share with family and friends. This inaugural vintage is 95% Malbec, 5% Cabernet Franc and was aged for 16 months in a combination of first and second use French oak barrels. This wine would not have been as great as it is without Lynn and Paul Randelman’s expert assistance during the blending session for this wine.

2015 Chovanes and Sons Syrah
Alc. 14.1%
“This 2015 Chovanes and Sons Syrah was made with our Orinda and Tahoe friends Betsy and Greg Chovanes”
As described on the Chovanes’ label:
In January 2016 we traveled to the Uco Valley during El Nino. But the rainy days did not dampen our spirits. From walking through the vineyards and avoiding puddles to seeing the clouds part to reveal the spectacular Andes are two of our favorite memories. We loved visiting the unique wineries and enjoyed 5 course meals and wine pairings surrounded by vineyards as far as the eye could see. But most of all our private barrel with our friends to create this wine was the highlight of our trip.
The wine region of Mendoza in Argentina is special and we want to thank Chip and Carolyn for sharing their barrel of Syrah and this wonderful place with us.
2016 El Abuelo Borrachin Malbec
Alc. 14.5%
“This 2016 El Abuelo Borrachin Malbec was made with our long-time great friends Carol and Tim from Chicago”
As described on the Cawley’s label:
Nestled in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, in the alluvial soil of the Uco Valley near Mendoza, lies four special acres known to all as the source of the great wines of La Hermandad de los Andes. In 2016, the owners of that special land offered to share it with us, so that we could now share it with you.
From the vines in this elite vineyard, only the best malbec grapes were hand-selected, blended carefully with a touch of cabernet franc, and aged 16 months in French oak barrels. All this to create for you this libation of extraordinary character.
El Abuelo Borrachín is a special wine dedicated to all of you who can picture yourself sitting contentedly in a park, a glass of wine on the table, a noble dog at your feet. We hope you enjoy it, and the joie de vivre you will find in every glass.
